HES Pre-K Shout Out!
Both PreK classes completed their Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool. TPOT is a tool used to evaluate how well teachers implement the Pyramid Model and promote social-emotional competence. Both classes met 98% fidelity! This is a big accomplishment because it means our PreK classrooms are providing effective teaching strategies, classroom management, and supporting social-emotional development to a high standard.
PreK also participated in the NC Rated License Assessment Project by completing an ECERS-R assessment. Assessors choose one prek classroom from the school at random and conduct an observation that focuses on the classroom environment experienced by children (e.g., physical environment, language-reasoning, interactions, program structure, health and safety). Mrs. Poarch's class was selected and achieved an average score of 6.46, with 7 being the highest score. This shows a high level of quality in our PreK classrooms! Our PreK team strives to create a positive learning environment, to meet the needs of their students, and to follow best practices. They are committed to giving children the best possible care and education!
